The Iraqi National VEX Robotics Championship follows the official eligibility guidelines set by the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation for VEX IQ and VEX Robotics Competition (VRC).
Here are the typical age and grade groupings for the current competition season:
-
VEX IQ Robotics Competition (VIQRC):
- Elementary School Division: Students who are 12 years old or younger on May 1st of the current competition year.
- Middle School Division: Students who are 15 years old or younger on May 1st of the current competition year.
- Note: A Middle School Student may "play up" and compete as a High School Student in VRC.
-
VEX Robotics Competition (VRC):
- Middle School Division: Students who are 15 years old or older on May 1st of the current competition year.
- High School Division: Students who are 19 years old or younger on May 1st of the current competition year and are earning high school credit.
- Note: A Middle School Student may "play up" and compete as a High School Student. However, a High School Student may NOT "play down" and compete in a Middle School division.
Please always refer to the official Game Manual for the current season, available on the Robot Events website, for the most definitive and updated eligibility rules, as slight adjustments can occur from year to year.
